What is plasma polishing?

Plasma polishing, or Plasma Electrolytic Polishing, smooths and brightens metal by submerging the part in a water-based salt solution and running a current through it. This forms a thin plasma layer that removes peaks and imperfections across the surface. It is a clean, single-step process with no harsh acids.

Which metals can you polish?

Stainless steel, titanium, cobalt-chrome, copper alloys, brass and 3D printed metal parts. If you are not sure about your alloy, send us a sample and we will test it before any production run.

How is it different from electropolishing?

Traditional electropolishing relies on aggressive, toxic acids. Plasma polishing uses an environmentally friendly water-based solution, is safer for operators, and reaches geometries that acids and mechanical methods often cannot.

Will it change the dimensions of my part?

Material removal is very small and controlled. Geometry and sharp corners are preserved, especially with the jet process, which targets only the areas that need finishing.

What surface finish can I expect?

Results depend on the starting roughness and the material, but plasma polishing reliably produces a smooth, bright, low-Ra finish. We confirm the target Ra on your part before production.

Can you polish internal surfaces and tubes?

Yes. Internal tube polishing and selective jet polishing reach inner contours, cavities and bends that are difficult or impossible to finish with other methods.

Do you handle prototypes and small batches?

Yes. We support single parts, prototypes and batch production, and we are a strong fit for 3D printed dental and medical components.
